hi!
so let's begin on the updates,, I am currently set to move in to my university in 28 days and i am super excited to start this new phase of my life! along with that excitement is fear of course because with any new and big change in life, there are always going to be mixed feelings. But for the most part i'm excited to start college and live independently and be able to really focus on what i want to do in life :)
still in quarantine, at least i am trying my hardest to self quarantine because this virus still scares me and i rather take the necessary precautions than to get infected.. its just a very weird time. i have said this many times in the past couple of months but this whole year has just been so crazy and i cant believe everything that is happening but i mean that's life i guess!

I've been watching a lot of TV and movies, and listening to a lot of music lately so i thought that i would share some of those things and thoughts! :)

first up is Orange is The New Black. WOW. what an incredible show. I am so glad that I finally decided to start watching it because it is incredible. I feel like the show does a great job in its representation, with many POC and LGBTQ+ characters. The way that the show is presented is so entertaining and it also explores so many important topics throughout the show. I think I picked the perfect time to watch this show because some of the storylines in the show are scarily accurate with some of the current events. (not going to spoil or anything don't worry) I loved how real the show was and I found myself really invested in the characters and storylines! I would absolutely recommend this show to anyone who enjoys ensemble lead shows and fantastic story lines!!
Next up is Her, directed by Spike Jonze. Beautiful movie. Such a fantastic script, the way it was written made the delivery so effortless and realistic. Powerful lines too, lines that made you think. I can tell that this movie relied heavily on color and it was presented in such a beautiful way. There were moments where I was just in awe at the commitment of color theory in this piece. I really love the way that this piece was visually presented. I also love the acting. Joaquin Phoenix did such a fantastic job in this role. I really could not have imagined it with any other actor honestly. He played it with such honesty that it just felt so real. I just really liked how the whole movie was presented. The concept is really interesting and i feel like you really have to have an open mind to enjoy the movie. It's about connection. I really enjoyed it.

Wow, now that i am reading that last paragraph back you can definitely tell that i am a film and media student haha,, i took one class in high school and fell in love with it, i find analyzing film so wonderful because there is always so much you can find on how different elements work together to create effortless and beautiful scenes.

now for some music picks!

I discovered the singer Lizzy Mcalpine a couple of months ago through a friend and now i am completely obsessed with her music and voice. she is a fantastic artist and every song she writes feels so heartfelt and is absolutely beautiful. I always love watching her instagram lives because she gives little concerts that are so genuine and nice to just sit and listen to. I think she is going to make it big! some of my favorite songs of hers are "Pancakes for dinner" and "When the world stopped moving" on soundcloud.

and as always there is a special place in my heart for Harry Styles. his album "Fine Line" is so beautifully crafted and even though it was released in 2019, i listen to it all the time. the songs are beautiful and you can tell how much work was put into each song, each song tells a story and has its own set of little secrets and i just find that amount of dedication to the craft really admiral. Ive been a fan of one direction for 8 years and it makes me so happy to see that all the boys are doing their own thing and thriving, and it brings so much joy to my heart to see harry creating music and stories :) seeing artists be authentic and real with their music is so beautiful to see! My favorite track on Fine Line is "Cherry". it is just so beautiful and heartfelt.

those are some of my recommendations for now :) i think i might start adding a little section for recommendations because i really enjoy talking about the content i consume and it is also a way for me to chronicle the things i watch :)

Overall i have been pretty okay, preparing myself for big changes and getting ready to say goodbye to this part of my life, childhood and the comfort of home. i'm ready for new adventures and experiences.

alright ill update soon! sending love and hugs
